Like I said before, I'm not blaming the "list" directly. Comcast is not my ISP, the spam CAME from Comcast. Whether "dictionary attack" or not, is not the point. The point remains that that address is ONLY used for this list and for only about a week.
I'll check out sneakemail, looks like a good idea, thanks. This would be good two-fold since there are so many posts I cannot receive due to blocked IP ranges, yours unfortunately being another one. I also cannot receive Jim's posts. I just went to the archives and found this post of yours, one from Jim (Cladingboel), two from Hugh (Vandervoort), of which I can't receive, then there is also Ben, Glenn, and Linda's posts of which I cannot receive. All thanks to ISP's that support spamming. This is very bothersome since there's no telling how many times someone has asked me a question and I never got it, or replied to a post where I asked a question and I never got it. I always thank those that reply to my post questions so if someone never received one from me, I apologize, I just never got it. -Clint Happy New Year to all & God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) From: Steve Subject: Re: PCWorks: Sp*am thanks to this list!! Date: Fri, 23 Jan 2004 08:44:13 -0800 --------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- I'm confused. Are you blaming Comcast or the list? If Comcast is selling your email address how does that mean the list is to blame? Your email, as it appears to me is support1. A very common word in the dictionery, leads me to bleive, you were a victim of a dictionary attack. Take a look at sneakemail.com, for disposable addresses for mailing lists. They work like a charm. At 03:07 AM 1/23/04 , [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and said this: Well this is unbelievable. I just spent a #$!&@ WEEK changing ALL of my email addresses, and deleting ALL of my previous ones thanks to spamming scumbags. Only a few days after changing my email address for THIS LIST, I'm now getting SPAM on it! This was a DEDICATED SPECIAL email address used ONLY for THIS LIST, and now it's getting attacked!! And it comes as NO SURPRISE it's "courtesy of" the criminal [EMAIL [EMAIL PROTECTED] at Comcast (whom are as bad as the Chinese & the WORST USA ISP), with their LACNIC scum members whom they insist upon giving net access to!! I cannot take this, my business cannot take it and my HEALTH cannot take it. So, I'm unsubscribing, the hell with this crap. Not that that's going to be a big deal to anyone, I'm just letting the list know that this list IS INDEED plagued with: 1. Parasites that belong to it; 2. The archives are being "spambotted"; 2. Our addresses are getting sold; or any combination of the three. With the MOST AGGRESSIVE spam filters probably used by ANYONE, with 900 filters and counting, it still cannot stop the attacks. This is why I cannot see posts by numerous members here; your IP's are blocked due to your ISP's allowing spamming. If I must post something, I'll just have to ask some friends of mine to post it and I'll have to watch the archives. So long! -Clint ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
