You can remove all those autoexecs and configs and probably you do not lose anything, besides you DO get rid of that DOS cdrom driver which in fact slows down windows forcing it into DOS compatibility mode. The AVG and McAfee initial DOS scans (one after the other!!!!) seem to be equally useless. You still may need the line concerning the USB keyboard, in case you do have one and you can not manage it through the bios (wonder why you need a special DOS driver for it)
Unless you are a DOS fanatic and besides you spend most of your time with huge DOS based games, wipe them off and you'll be happier and windows will be happier and faster too.

Here again I don't know what these warnings mean. The only change I ever made was numlock=off(sans quotes) disabling numlock from startup. And again, the computer seems to be working fine; I just don't know why these warnings popped up when opening safe mode (all this because I wanted to do a thorough scandisk in safe mode) ...
