A few weeks ago my anti virus program found the "downloader" trojan on my
pc. I went to Google and typed in the name "downloader.exe" ( the name given to
me by my McAfee software) and found a response from Symantec that gave me
step by step instructions for removal.
Basically it involved starting my computer in the safe mode, disabling system
restore, going into regedit and deleting the keys that the Symantec site
indicated. After I deleted the indicated key, I ran my anti virus and after
several tries finally succeeded. It was pretty simple. Just be very careful. If
that fails THEN you can reformat and reinstall. Good Luck

am working on a client's machine that was totally infested with spyware,
tr-jans and v*r*ses (long story - no anti virus on machine). I've installed
and run both AdAware and Spybot as well as the free AVG anti virus program.

I've gotten it down to a point where a few tr-jans remain. Does anyone know
of a good (preferably free) tr-jan remover?

Thanks, in advance.
