We were speaking of Thunderbird, not Firebird. :-) Firebird
is a browser. You must be talking about Tbird.

Are you all saying that Firebird won't authenticate? I
would find that surprising. My problems with downloading
and sending yahoo mail via my mail program almost always
involve the rules of the server rather than the mail
program. I have just tried two dialups that would download
but not permit sending using the yahoo address. My current
server permits pop3/smtp receiving and sending via yahoo.

I use TheBat! and believe it has more features than do most
mail programs. But it also isn't free, though certainly not
a major expense.

I have Firebird on my computer, installed it to see what I
thought, I think it's pretty decent, but it lacks a feature
I have in TheBat! and which I am unwilling to give up. So
TheBat! takes the prize. That feature is not in OE and I
assume is not available in Outlook -- redirecting mail
using the original sender's address -- Eudora's options for
redirecting mail are not quite as clean and neat so I have
never considered using Eudora.

I thought the filtering to folders options might have been a
bit weak in Firebird but I didn't use the program long
enough to give them a fair shake.
