I don't use the Local Folders option personally, MOP, once they are set and they are all enabled they run fine. Both on my windows and bsd box.

What app did you use before?

Peter,
They work once you get the hang of it, but if you want to set message filters
to apply to
all accounts, you have to set them in each account..unless I missed something.
I set rules up under local folders(I think it was) and none of them applied
until I set
the rules up under each email account.

I never experienced the difficulties you did with the filters Jeff, I have 9 accounts running through Thunderbird concurrently (down to 8 on Friday).

I used to have messages sit in my outbox before sending too, I'm ok
either way on this aspect especially since my smtp server is so quick too :)

I quit it because it is too time consuming to set mail filters up, especially if you

several email accounts.
Plus, I prefer to place outgoing messages in the OUTbox, until I click
send/receive...TBird makes it harder.
