I tried that Hugh and found that all my drives were turned on. I just tried the device again and all I get is the USB device not recognized message and when I click the message nothing show up in the window. When I go to the device manager and try to look at the USB info the winddow jumps vertically and you can't read it. Strange thing and so far restarting and restoring to a latter time does not work.

In some cases a drive letter is over-written and can't be used again after a USB device is connected. I'm not sure why this should be so, but it's helped other people in the same situation.

I have a device that is recognized on one of my computers using the Windows XP while the other computer will not recognize this device. It will recognize other devices though. I was going to delete the USB items in the device manager but because I am using wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse I would be unable to use the computer anymore. When I install the device then go to device manager it shows up as "unknown device" and I have tried installing other drivers but nothing seems to help. There is no software with the device. (the device is a Iway 350 gps)
Thanks
