i didn't spend much time on this anymore (no success reproducing it on
my laptop) - but i had the option to quickly check on an intel mac
with macos 15.5 without devtools or prior pd installs: it shows the
same problem!

testing with the available builds from https://msp.ucsd.edu/Software/,
i found that Pd0.56-0test1 is still working fine, while Pd0.56-0test2
has the issue.
