the beauty of memory corruption is, that you don't really know when it's
going to happen.
adding a single line of code might change the memory layout of the
program, does moving the corruption somewhere else where you won't
immediately trigger it.
however, the memory corruption is still there, waiting to bite when you
are absent-minded.
