it turned out that the crash was unrelated to videoPYLON. instead the problem was that the patch logic would open and close patches dynamically - with the closing of a patch being triggered from within the patch itself. so the patch committed suicide and took Pd down as collateral damage. the moral of the story is: don't do dynamic patching if you don't know *exactly* what you are doing. fmd<r IOhannes
