There are different distiller settings to choose from based on your intended use and desired file size.

 

Screen, or web, is low resolution - 72 dpi

Press is high resolution - 300 dpi

 

You can create you own custom settings, too. You have to experiment to find out what works best for your needs.

 

With bitmap images, the higher the resolution, the clearer the images.
