He/she should try using the Acrobat Distiller printer driver for making the
PS file; then Distill using the optimized settings tailored for the quality
level required by the Xerox machine.

In addition to being installed as a printer/PPD, the Acrobat Distiller PPD
needs to reside in the RSRC folder within the Pagemaker application files.

no I just print and finish, however I do know customer uses Pagermaker7.0
creates a .ps file then distills using output settings designed by Xerox.
Xerox has no idea why this is happening and Adobe never responds to my
queries.

Are you the one who generated the 12x18 output from a source document.
If so, how did you do it. I'm a little rusty on pre-press, but it seems as
if your document is allowing for crop marks on output. Sorry I couldn't be
more help. Why don't you attach the PDF file to a post and see if anyone can
take a crack at figuring it out.

Have a file PDF 12 x 18 using Acrobat Reader 6.0 to view and print.
Problem when I choose
12 x 18 in the properties for specific printer chosen the preview shows
12.6 x 19.7 and when sent
to the Xerox 2045 colour copier this same incorrect size shows up. In Reader
when viewing file it clearly says 12 x 18. Does anyone have any ideas, I
have restarted both systems, uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Reader? I
use a PC, Windows2000.
