[PDF-Basics] Acro Reader 5 prefs locked

I'm having this problem where I'm creating a PDF from Oracle forms 9i and when it opens up in my browser (WinXP, IE 6) it opens up with the Acrobat 5 IE plug in. I opened up Acrobat Reader 5 and went to preferences to make it open with Reader externally and the top most checkbox was shaded and couldn't be deselected. Does anyone know why this is, all the other options are selectable except this one.     Ed
