As far as I know, whenever you
open a pdf in a browser (IE), it always uses the browser plug-in. You have
to manually open the file in Reader (drop it on the desktop icon) or open Reader
then open the file in Reader. If the file is automatically opening a
browser window, right click on the file and check what program pdfs are
associated with. Make sure you associate (Open with...) all pdf files with
Reader, not IE. I don't know if this helps, and if you already know all
this then just ignore it.
