But, if you do a text search Acrobat won't look for or list text behind the crop curtain. So pay no attention to the text behind the curtain. What you need to understand is that the crop tool doesn't eliminate information in a PDF...it simply reduces the visible page. The crop tool in Photoshop gets rid of the data outside the cropped area.
