To elaborate even further, if you print a cropped page you will print the
entire page, including what you can't see behind the crop curtain (crop
marks, registration marks, graffiti, an original draft of the Declaration of
Independence).  But, if you do a text search Acrobat won't look for or list
text behind the crop curtain.  So pay no attention to the text behind the
curtain.  Unless you're printing.

Highlight the text with the text touch-up tool, and hit the delete key.

What you need to understand is that the crop tool doesn't eliminate
information in a PDF...it simply reduces the visible page. The crop tool in
Photoshop gets rid of the data outside the cropped area.
