Preps is the standard for imposition. There's not much you can't do with it, depending on the version you bought.

I work for a newspaper and we are making the transition from paste up to
pagination. We bought PREPS, which is an imposition software that is
supposed to excellent.

Has anyone had any experience with it?

We're producing a help manual + help files using some single-sourcing
software that spits out a word document.

We'd like to print (probably photocopy) this onto legal size paper, folded
in half to make printer spreads.

I'm thinking the best solution would be to PDF the word doc and find
imposition software for PDFs that would:

- properly order the 7 x 8.5 pages and place then on 14 x 8.5 pages (2-up)

- handle creep (not critical, but would be nice to have)

Any recommendations?
