Steve,The PDF list is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com __________________________________________________________________Apparently the newer version "AcroPDF Launch2" will not cause Reader to run from the CD and requires the user to have Reader installed or prompts the user to do an install - but the original version will cause Reader to run from the CD if the Reader folder is copied over to the CD. According to the techsupport person at AcroPDF the original version is still available from AcroPDF for the same price. Steve Harris
I greatly appreciated your help. I tried it, but unfortunately, as GST confirm, their product doesn't do it.
I'll put out another message here and see if I can pull confirmation that Reader will always default to a hard disk install if there is one. Very tedious and a serious limitation.

'Acrobat Reader is not installed on this computer. This CD requires it to display a PDF document. Click Yes to instal Acrobat reader from this CD...' So unless I have missed something...this product, handy as it seems, doesn't seem to resolve my problem... I can make a viable autorun CD... I want to ensure that it uses the copy of Reader I supply on the CD. And I want to ensure that hardly anyone has to open the PDF 'by hand'.
