Can I use the utility that comes with the TifLib source which is > under GPL. http://www.libtiff.org Are you sure that libtiff is under GPL? It certainly didn't used to be, and it does not seem so from reading the site. >Thanks for the information. I see that there are so many Tif 2 PDF >utilities on the web for $500+. Why do they sell it if i can get it for >free ? Some companies will not use free software, either because they do not trust it, or because they suspect price and quality are linked. Also, if you think the task is generic enough that there can be no variation between products, you may need to learn more about TIFF and PDF... I am not in any sense denigrating libtiff; I have used it and found it excellent. You must make your own decisions according to your company's purchasing criteria. In addition, few programmers take an objective view of such matters, and will happily spend weeks tinkering with "free" software to make it work, when off the shelf software MIGHT have been working in a day. For the person who pays their salary, this is often a very bad bargain, but it was more fun for the programmer, who is all too often left to make what should be management decisions... this is a general observation, please don't take it personally (unless you feel you should!)
