Have you tried the module on a perl whose $Config{ptrsize} is 4 ?
I think (untested) that will still work, though I can't remember if it
requires that $Config{ivsize} is also 4.
Of course, even if that's a possibility for you, a better solution would be
(for someone) to fix the problem.
