Well, the new feature(s) are hardly alone justifying a high price; some would probably
put them into the gimmick category.
I'm sure that the MZ-S do indeed offer the traditional values of light weight, good
design and ease of use. I do not subscribe to the theory that a Pentax should be
cheaper than comparable products from the competition and I don't think Pentaxes
really ever has.
Nowadays its very difficult to judge a cameras price based on features. Features now
are mostly electronic and doesn't cost much. Its market position and built that
determine a cameras final cost.

Well if it offers F100 features and built then I see no reason why it should be sold
any cheaper. I don't think Pentax can sell camera cheaper than anyone else unless
cutting corners in quality. I'm willing to pay even more than F100 prices because an
F100 don't fit my lenses while a Pentax do.
Anyway, I don't think it will cost much more than $800 in the US mail order houses.
Besides, the 999 may be bullshit although I would expect that a camera shop that now
advertise the MZ-S must have gotten delivery date and price estimates from the Pentax
distributor.
