Actually, Jens is right. In several of the camera manuals (such as
the one for my PZ-1p) Pentax do recommend turning off the camera
before changing lenses.
It's not particularly important if you are using old pre-AF lenses,
but mounting a lens like the old FA 28-105 can result in the lens
suddenly zooming and focussing as you complete the operation. This
could, conceivably, startle an unwary user into dropping the camera.
It's also a good idea to switch the camera to MF before mounting
some third-party lenses - there's at least one lens that has a hole
that the AF shaft can engage with, jamming things up completely.
