Hey knowledgeable Pentax people.....

Man, Pentax has a lot of interesting options. Looks like fun. But as a "newbie", I don't want to buy stuff that doesn't line up and match okay either...

I'm trying to put together an inexpensive (cheap, actually) body that has motor drive and AE (with both shutter and aperture priorities), with a good 50mm 1.4 lens. (Probably the "A" model, if I can get one somewhere.)  (Auto-focus is not an absolute requirement here either.)

So, what if instead of an "AF" lens, I use this "A" lens (50 f1.4) on a ZX-M;  what AE metering functions would I still get? SP?, AP?, full auto-program AE? And what differences of info in the viewfinder might there be here?

And, how about SF7, and SFX cameras? The junky, plastic looking ones; they're very cheap right now. (And no, I don't care about their only having auto DX coding. It's not a problem for me. They do have exposure compensation...)
These black boxes use the "F" auto-focus lenses, right? but suppose I put an "A" on one of them? I'd lose the auto-focus, right? But what about their metering functions? Would I still get SP and AP auto-exposure functions here too ?
Hey, they do have motor drive and 1/2000 shutter speed. For $100, excellent condition? Amazing!
