Yes and no to both questions. There is no specific button for manually
setting your ISO, so you'll have to play around with exposure compensation
to accomplish the same effect. And there is no place for a cable release
(was it so hard to add the thread socket that the F80 has????), though
there is an infrared remote available for it, I believe.
Keep in mind that you're comparing Nikon's entry-level body with the third
body up from the bottom in Pentax's lineup. The F65 has 5 selectable
focusing points, a quieter shutter and focusing, and a bunch of program
modes (if ya like that sorta thing), but in practically every other
respect the MZ-5n is superior. Think of the F65 as a camera that
facilitates shooting in program mode, while the MZ-5n cries out for more
user control and allows for more over-rides. Things like DOF preview,
three different metering modes and quick exposure bracketing place it on a
level above the F65. Why not compare it to the f80... there's a beautiful
camera. Ummm... for a Nikon, I mean. *cough cough*
