IF Pentax is going to produce a flagship camera. And IF digital is the
way of the future. What is the possibility of the next generation of
flagship cameras being digital cameras?
You would than require a high quality second line camera with a pro type
body for photographers that couldn't afford or want to go digital. It would
be rugged but lack some of the capabilities of the digital camera. The
digital and film based cameras could also share some basic parts! Say a MZ-S
and a PD-1?
Also, with the rapid progress being made in digital cameras would it be
possible to solve the "rapidly out of date" problem by creating
interchangeable backs? (Larger format pro camera systems commonly allow for
interchangeable backs.) So, when you want to update your system you buy an
updated back! Interchangeable backs might even allow both digital and film
options on the same camera?
Sorry, this is what happens when I engage my brain at 6:00 AM. :->
