AFAIK, Pentax is preparing digital SLR with 6 megapixel CCD matrix
24�36mm from Philips. It will have KAF2 and be able to use all 35-mm
lenses directly and 645|67 lenses with adaptors. Unfortunately it
looks like a prototype, so still waiting...

MZ-S is intended to compete Nikon F100, but not F5 or EOS 1V. It seems
like Asahi will concentrate its efforts on enhancing existing models
in 35-mm and promote 645 serie for 35-mm users. I think that Pentax
lost the battle on the 35-mm field against N*** and C***. Unfortunately.
Maybe digital model will help somehow.
