Ya know, I was thinking that I have but two 'pods, but upon
reading your message I thought about it for for a bit and
realized that I have five.  There's the Bogen/Manfrotto 3228W,
the Marchioni Bros. Tiltall, an old Velbon, a big, heavy wooden
surveyor's unit, and a small, lightweight Slik tabletop model.
There are a couple of Bogen heads on the shelf, as well as a
C-clamp doohickey that allows mounting the camera in all sorts
of interesting place.

Plus, and I believe thanks go to Oregon Bill for the idea, I've
made a mount which allows use of just the tripod head on flat
surfaces, like a table, car hood, and the like, and which allows
placing the head on the ground, amongst rocks, and so forth.
Although I've not used these stands much, they are great for
getting down and close in many situations without resorting to
using bulky or cumbersome tripods.

So, Bob, and Tom, and others, are 100% on the money: you can
never have too many tripods or supports.

Of course, I need a better head too....
