Hi Doug,
No it wouldn't affect the value I place on the images captured with the said
crapola lenses however it would diminish my trust in the product given the
unknown quantities, much like a plastic lens mount would. I have chosen my
lens array as much for mechanical build as for performance and
specification. My gear is subjected to extremes of temperature, dust and
moisture, this sort of abuse could well hasten the possible deterioration of
the said polymer elements leading possibly to geometric distortion,
discolouration, crazing leading to veiling flare? These problems won't happen
to my all glass lenses.
I have spent a shit-load of cash on Pentax glass and I'd like them to be
functional long after film fades as the preferred photographic medium.
