Oops! Forgot about these ones, both of which are good reasons to bid
early. For everyone else, bid at the end if you can. Bidding early just
drives the price up. Mafud's idea of one bidder wearing another down
doesn't really work with his example. If a bidder has a very high maximum
bid, then you're better off waiting until the end and bidding your
absolute maximum. Trying to wear him down during the auction might make
him nervous enough to raise his bid even more. Really, bidding during the
auction benefits the seller much more than the buyer. Execpt, of course,
for my auctions, where bidding early and often is definitely
encouraged. :)
