Well, you got me there--Nikon has always listed the sync speed at 1/200th.
Perhaps the sync speed simply isn't marked or the 1/250th setting is really
1/200th. It would take a Nikon expert, which I ain't, to tell the tale.

I'll ask Gandy and get back to you. Sure looks like you're right, though.

However, the salient point is that the FM2 shutter isn't electronically
timed, it's mechanical; and the FE2 shutter is electronically timed, but it
isn't mechanical. The FM3A shutter is both.
