I admit to using my 100mm macro in AF quite often (at non-macro
distances) but very rarely use the flash. The battery indicator was starting to
flash when winding.

I just finished a roll and I have a spare battery so I might change it before I
put the next roll in. The battery in there now has been in there since I bought
the camera so I have no idea how old it is.
