Jim,
No such item, although there have been looooooong discussions about
incorporating a battery and vertical shutter release into a version of the
current auxiliary grip. The invention got bogged down in the
cost/availability of the release switch.
Others have talked about drilling a small hole in the battery door, replacing
the battery with a blank from Microtools (?) and running the wires thru the
door to a remote battery pack. ...Kind of distructive to my way of thinking.
Bottom line is, carry the extra battery. Always! You can change mid-roll
without any loss of settings. After the PZ-1p eats 1 or 2 batteries from you
playing with all the new autofocus and powerzoom features, battery
consumption will settle down to one or two a year.
