I have mixed feelings about CdI. They sure know how to write their
bench tests, but I can't get rid of the feeling they're well enslaved
by their advertisers, of which Pentax was never part of. Of course
the usual dose of criticism is there with C/N/M, but they seem to have
a special sarcasm for Pentax. Judging by the reports frequency and
"love" marks, even Sigma must be a respectable company compared to the
"also-runner" Pentax.
That said, I still read them; there's useful info between the lines.

They must have a special perception of quality/price ratio. How much
better must be a Leica lens than its Pentax counterpart, 5-7 times to
justify the price difference? Looking in others MTF tests, it's barely
10-25% better in resolution terms, and we won't account here for
multicoatings, bokeh where Pentax excels and make the love factor CdI
is so proud of. Leica wouldn't normally win such a contest not even
with Samyang...

You are right indeed - I also have this statistics somewhere. I'll
try look it up and point where CdI really f***** up.
