I don't want to be a 'killjoy', but yesterday I
reviewed the number of Chasseur d'Images French
magazine of July/August'99, where they chose the 60
'best' lenses in the market. One of the main points
rated was the quality/price ratio (so they were not
the best in absolute quality).
Well, Pentax had only 4 (maybe 5) lenses while Nikon
had 13. Even with this constraint, Leica had many more
lenses in this list than Pentax.
Sorry buy I am not at home and I can't give you the
exact figures (I'll chek tonight if you are
interested), but Pentax was one of the last
manufacturers in number of lenses appearing on the
list.
So, what can be the reason for this poor rating, at
least in best value for the money?
