Paul, I have one that I've used heavily for 13 years. (I shoot 150 to 300
rolls a year). I have experienced no problems what so ever, and it is
holding up just fine. I use the "macro" feature all the time. I haven't done
any objective performance tests on it, but I haven't noticed any issues with
the images taken with it.  I like the semi "armoured feel" it has, like some
of the better filed glasses. If you need a lens in this range, I would
reccommend it. Don't know how it might compare to an FA version - don't
care. Hope this helps.
