A bit "me too" to everything that David just said.  I love the feel of my
MF stuff, and when I shoot for fun it's usually what I use.  But when I
absolutely *need* a shot I usually use AF, since I get a higher proportion
of in-focus shots.  I like to shoot quickly most of the time, and don't
(or can't) spend enough time focusing precisely.  :( Also, since I use
PSP's (pre-Spotmatic Pentaxes) a lot of the time, I guess at the exposure,
so my AF shots usally come out better exposed, too.  :)  But the ability
to pop my MF lenses (even the M42 ones) on my MZ-5n is a huge plus.
