I photograph solely for my own pleasure and have AF gear which does
everything I could wish it to do, but these days I never use it, simply
because I find it uninvolving. With my preferred MF equipment I have to make
all the decisions and therefore get much more engrossed in whatever I happen
to be pointing a camera at. It seems to me that I take better photographs as
a result.
In the same way, I find that zoom lenses make me lazy and sloppy, and so I
don't use zooms much any more either.
I'm not saying that MF and primes are the only equipment for serious
photographers or anything silly like that: simply, this is how it works out
for me.
Cheers to all.
Ted Bradshaw.
