This was determined this past summer when I had to send all 3 of
my LX's into the repair shop for their tri annual repair.
While my cameras have a repair cycle of less than three years
(closer to two years actually), in Norway, an LX has an almost
unlimited life expectancy.
In Canada, it costs between $300.00 and $500.00 every repair
cycle to own and use an LX, which in my case works out to
between $150.00 and $200.00 per year, and adds between $.60 and
$1.00 to the cost of every exposure.
For the price of running my LX's, I can shoot 6x7 or 4x5
instead.
Pentax Canada also wants hard currency for repairs.
Reindeer poop is not hard, even when frozen.
