You bought the bottom feeding lens with your camera that Pentax
has to make to compete in a price point with bottom feeding
lenses from Canon, Nikon and Minolta. They all make a crap
beginner lens for people who are too cheap or uneducated to pay
for quality glass.
Don't judge the entire line because you made a dumb purchasing
error.
Do some real research instead.
