It is indeed a good zoom lens, as good as the A 28-135/4 within its somewhat narrower range, and a partial stop faster, too. (Nonetheless, I still prefer the 28-135, giving up the partial stop and taking the zoom range flexibility in trade.) > The macro isn't half bad - if you don't currently have a macro > lens, this one does a reasonable job. It's usually better than nothing, but just about any true macro lens can "run circles around" this and many other "macro zooms". The "macro" feature on the little A 35-70/4 is better than that on the A 28-135/4, the A 70-210/4, or this lens (the 35-105).
