It is "some other hood", I don`t know which Vivitar lens it was made for, but it is all metal and is 1" long overall with threads, and a little over 2 and a half inches wide. It seems like a good hood for a normal, but I don`t know of any normals with 58mm threads. Vivitar did make a 85/1.8, maybe it was for that one.
