Geez, Mafud!

Why do I feel like my 'Miata' just got turned into a rusted out 'Gremlin'?
I had no idea I was supposed to be ashamed of/and or have an inferiority
complex over picking Pentax 6 months ago. Is it too late for me to print
out some 'Canikolta' stickers and paste them over the 'Pentax' on my zx-5n
and lenses? Cripes, I hope they don't run out of Rebels at WalMart before I
get down there.

Dan Scott (looking incredulously at the suddenly steamin' hunk of silver
and black poo sitting on his desk--NOT!!)

>I might add that tens of thousands of MZ owners have themselves been wishing
>for an "upgrade" of their not so basic machines. The MZ-S fills that purpose
>with a gleeful vengeance for PENTAX owners of all stripes.
>
>No more muttered: "It's a PENTAX" when asked by strangers, no more "I've been
>thinking of switching" vacillations, no more "brand shame";
>"It's a PENTAX MZ-S, you got a problem with that?"
>
>Now you can break out the F/2.8 lenses, mount them to the MZ-S and hammer
>away just like the other "pros." So you can't do 10fpm. The PENTAX body (all
>of them) is usually too elegant, at the same time, too work oriented for that
>foolishness anyway.
>
>The MZ-S will cause a lot of people to buy and use those big wide, red and
>grey "PENTAX" camera straps, instead of straps that draw no attention to your
>rig.
>You won't have to hastily explain how SMC lenses are the best coated lenses
>in the world. No longer will you have to walk through venues, hastily
>dragging your PENTAX out to snap a shot or two then just as swiftly, tuck
>your mere PENTAX behind you.
>*Yeah, LX owners show the Mark, LXs dangling by one end for their necks, but
>the rest of PENTAXIA kind of hide their wares, afraid they will be mocked by
>C**** or N**** owners;
>you know, those arrogant folk who, hearing your rig is ~just~ a PENTAX,
>say: "oh, I see."
>You know, the kind of folks who make you want to cream them with your
>precious PENTAX when they turn away, their C**** or N**** noses in the air.
>Instead, too many PENTAXIANS slink away, their humbled hearts sadly pounding.
>*There is justice though: Whenever I set up the 67ll, those same snobby,
>snotty C**** and N**** folks hide ~their~ puny 35mm rigs. I dig it in,
>innocently asking: "Didn't C**** have plans to join the professional
>photography ranks with a medium format offering?"
>Their dismay is delightful to behold.
>*A comeback, guaranteed to deflate C**** and N**** egos? Tell them you're
>thinking of adding a PENTAX medium format camera to do your "formal" work,
>either 645 or 67, you haven't made up your mind.
>Well, you are ~thinking~ of MF, aren't you?
>
>No damn more! We've got the LX, PZ-1p and now the MZ-S.
>The pity is, we'll probably become nearly as insufferable as those C**** or
>N**** folks, us looking down on point and shoot people (with the possible
>exception of those astute enough to shoot PENTAX p&s, especially the famed WR
>breed).
>
>Buck up old chaps, our 35mm time has come... out time is now!
