I just dug out the review in Popular Photography of the SF1n, which of course compared it to the SF1. To visually emphasize the dramatic difference in sound levels between the two bodies, I scanned a couple of comparative oscilloscope traces from the review: http://www.cetussoft.com/pentax/sfbodies/sf1sf1n1.jpg As I said before, "like night and day" - <g>. The text in the review also says that "By redesigning a few levers and changing the order in which certain internal events occur, Pentax was able to achieve a much quieter and more reliable camera." There are actually a number of differences between the newer and older bodies, but the sound difference seems to me to be the most striking. Fred
