The literature I've seen says it has a "TTL contrast detection autofocus system," and they add: Autofocus - 3 modes: 7 point AF, Spot AF & infinity Landscape Mode. Manual focus - 2.4 inches (0.06m) to Infinity. Reading the words accompanying the specs indicates there are 3 ranges of manual focus possible: Normal: 1.31 ft to infinity Macro: 7.1 inches to 1.64 feet [sic!], and Super Macro: 2.4" to 7.9" I suspect that each stated range to be selected, and are not steplessly available. > There is a "User" setting shooting mode - > is this equilvalent to manual exposure? Don't really know. That info is probably buried in the manual somewhere... keith > And it also seems that none of the Optio range offers aperture or shutter > priority exposure.
