I sympathise with your problem. After much research I had whittled down my
list of possible compacts to the Olympus mju 11 and the Yashica T5, going
primarily on the basis of lens quality and weather-resistance.

Today I went down to my local camera shops and played with both of them. I
came away with the T5. It felt better in my hands, for whatever that is
worth, and it has a better viewfinder than the mju. The mju's viewfinder
bends straight lines at the edge of the frame rather alarmingly, a problem
not to be found with the T5's finder.

The control buttons on the T5 are a little larger than those on the Olympus
camera. The T5's shutter release is very light in its action, the camera
focuses quickly and the LED readout screen is very clear. I know the lens
will be good as I have used a Rollei 35T for more years than I care to think
of.

I have only exposed a few frames so far, but I am feeling quite pleased with
the T5 already.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Ted Bradshaw.
