Dear all,
The related K-AF3 US patent applications are no. 20020114623, 20020114625 and 20020118963.

We first have to wait and whether it comes at all. I remember from the patents >that it was a type of multi-multi point AF: that is, several AF points with several AF subsensors.
According to the wording in the patent applications, the K-AF3 mount would allow electronic communication between the lens and the camera for new functions "such as the image stabilizing device or the motorized focusing lens driving device". According to the patents, the new lens with K-AF3 mount can be mounted onto old cameras via an adaptor.
