Eactivist asked about developing Velvia at home. Best left to the pros. You'd spend a lot of time in the darkroom, spend a whole lot of money and probably be disappointed with the results. Let the labs run the stuff through the machines.
If you like Velvia, I suggest that you try some Kodak Elite Chrome Extra Color (EBX-100). It's a 100 ISO extra color ektachrome and I really like the results I get with it. I mail order it for $2.09 per roll (you have to buy a pack of 10) from Unique Photo when they have it on special. I order 30 rolls at a time to make the shipping cost worthwhile. Tom Reese
