Dave Dixon, you got me thinking and looking.
Now I am confused.
Here's what I know about my PZ-1.

Set the PF (personal function) at CE for center weighted metering.
Put the K24/2.8 on the PZ-1 and open it to f2.8.
Focus on that lamp across the room.
The camera reads 1/60th.
Press the SPOT button, turn the wheel.
The camera reads 1/60th.

So far, so good!
With the K lens, we can't do matrix metering, so…
We get center-weighted metering, and when we
turn 'SPOT' metering on, we get center-weighted again.

Now the problem.
Set the PF at SP for spot metering.
Put the K24mm on the PZ-1 and open it to f2.8.
Focus on that lamp across the room.
The camera reads 1/500th.
Press the SPOT button, turn the wheel.
The camera reads 1/500th.

So it looks like I have spot metering, but this is all I have.
I can't change anything with the SPOT button.
I have to it with the PF function!
It's SPOT all the time.

Now put the A24/2.8 on the PZ-1 and open it to f2.8.
With an A lens, I should get matrix metering and I see 1/60th.
Set the PF at CE for center weighted metering.
Press the SPOT button, turn the wheel.
Exposure changes to 1/125th, center weighted metering!

Set the PF at SP for spot metering.
Press the SPOT button, turn the wheel.
Exposure changes to 1/500th, spot metering!

So my PZ-1 with a K lens doesn't change metering mode with the SPOT button.
With an A lens, the SPOT button will change the metering mode.
Every day I learn something here!!!

Thanks to both the Daves for sticking with me.
Regards, Bob S.
