I vacilated long and hard over that decision - in the end, the broader range of Canon lenses was what made me go for, what I consider, the lesser of two evils.
I'm not a huge fan of "7 autofocus points" (Nikon's N80 has 5)as I mainly use the central one and recompose my image. I do like the viewfinders on both cameras. I don't use any of the preset program options either. Strictly Aperture priority, Shutter priority and Manual. The Elan 7 had a few more minor options but it was no real big deal for me; as I said, I went with the Canon due to a wider range (in my opinion) of lenses vs the Nikon. Either one though is a good camera.
