You might want to look for the SMCP-M 50mm f/3.5 Mike. I have one of these and it's a dynamite lens. *Very* sharp, almost immune to flare and it's smaller than the 28/2.8. Going in the opposite direction (in all respects!), you *might* want to try out an FA*24/2.0: You've mentioned how some lenses are particularly suitable for black and white film and the 24/2.0 strikes me as one of these. It's kinda huge and it's an AF lens, but it works very well in manual focus mode. Works *really* well with black and white. P.S.
