If you consider sensor as a replacement for film, yes, sensor/electronics is important. At present sensor/electronics is dominating factor in digital photography. IMHO once sensor/electronics stabilizes(which may few take years); other ingredients of photography like lens, may again start getting (deserved)attention. Thanks Ramesh
