To me, it's already sunk. But there is good news, as digital will take over, most LX will become parts. But I guess there is nothing can be done about the aging rubbers which needed to be renewed every 5 years or so.

How long time - how many years - do you think the various LX's around can
be kept floating, i.e. in functional condition and not as gems in
collectors showcases? Pentax Scandinavia already sends all LX's for repair
och CLA's to the Netherlands, where spare parts for large parts of Europe
(old and new?) are pooled. They say some spares are definitely getting rare.
